Southern Medical College and Hospital is a private hospital located in Chittagong. It was established in 2005. The hospital has a good environment for patients. People are provided standard healthcare facilities. The hospital has expert doctors, nurses, and other staff who are always ready to serve their patients. They provide both clinical & hospital facilities. The college is affiliated with the Chittagong University and it’s also approved by the Medical Council of India. Besides, it’s approved by the Ministry of Healthcare, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

It has a good reputation for training and education in Nursing. It has a very good faculty members of Mds., Bsc, MS & MD. It is affiliated with Chittagong University for its Bachelor’s degree program since 1979. The College provides free Medical care facilities to poor patients throughout the year.

The college started as a nursing school in 1955 under the supervision of the Christian Medical Mission and after its transfer as a Government Institution, it was renamed Southern Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). After its establishment in 1978 SMCH started various new programs like Bachelor of Science in General Nursing & Midwifery (BSGNM) and Diploma Course in Psychiatric Nursing.
